The good news is the crew were back on the oars yesterday evening retracing their path from the previous two days drift north west. And the great news is that Martin is also back on the oars.

The infection on the top of his right foot rendered him unable to put any weight on it let alone row. He initially took oral antibiotics which didn’t seem to help so he upsized to injecting himself intravenously with antibiotics which seem to have done the trick.

The teams medical advisor has asked Martin to continue with the intravenous antibiotics and says that although it is likely to continue to improve he warns, “The important thing he needs to be aware of is if the infection starts spreading up his leg in red tracks.”
