Day 22: Snacking on sea anchor

Posted by over 1 year ago to Team Gallagher Trans-Tasman Rowing Challenge

Team Gallagher have been unable to row and have had their sea anchor deployed for the past 36 hours. They continue to be pushed further north and the weather forecast from Roger ‘Clouds’ Badham suggests this will continue for a further 24-36 hours.

Time off the oars is allowing them to catch up on maintenance and gives their tired bodies a break. Unfortunately, Martin’s foot is still of some concern. The infection is not settling down which is frustrating. However, the enforced rest for all may be a blessing in disguise for him.

Fortunately they have a great range of snacks to munch on while they sit it out. Top of the list would be Mother Earth muesli bars, nuts and dried fruit followed up with Whittakers peanut and almond gold slabs. Life could be worse!
