There is always something intestesting to enjoy at the gallery. For a smaller city, Tauranga holds its own on attracting top notch exhibitions. Based in the central city its a nice quiet (air-conditioned) place to escape and get your cultural fix. While they aren’t free, there’s often some cool bands or talks from expeirenced Kiwi historians to attend at very reasonable prices. The gallery does appreciate a gold coin donation on entry.
I first heard about this place when my cousin told me he'd pitched it as a possible wedding venue for himself and his lovely wife. She chose a more tad traditional venue but it got me curious about the place. I fell in love with the place the first time I visited. It is a world class gallery with with an open and inviting feel. I decided to put on an event here for work and Kylie Morgan from the gallery, could not have been more knowledgable and helpful.
