Taste Cafe

This is another place in Taupo that makes some really good, warm-the-cockles-of-your-heart type soup. They're homemade pumpkin soup is delish and it's served with a good selection of warm breads. I think pumpkin soup is one of the est winter cold cures, and Taste Cafe's seriously won't disappoint.

I once had a smashing pumpkin soup at Taste Cafe in Taupo, and I'm hoping that this cold weather hitting the Central North Island will see it back on the menu at Taste. Great flavours, so creamy, and yummy bread for dipping - this is one of my top winter favourites!

I'm all about keeping warm over winter. Great hot chocolates are a huge help when it comes to that. Taste Cafe in beautiful Taupo makes a rocking good hot choc - smooth, so chocolatey, and topped with fluffy cream, cinnamon, choc sprinkles and a dash of hazelnut or mint flavouring. There's so much yumminess in one cup that I always opt for the large iption.

Great smoothies, yummy cakes, and a super chilled out atmosphere. Their banana smoothie is my fave. The food there is also consistently good so you know that when you're meeting up with friends for a coffee, you won't have to worry about disappointing cakes and burnt coffee.

Good smoothies and cakes, great lake view and lovely to take visitors. Child friendly with good play area for rainy days.
