A little about us

In 1880, Marianne Smith opened her own drapery store with the vision of providing the early pioneers of Auckland and beyond with quality merchandise at good value, with the best possible service.

And today, over 130 years later, Smith & Caughey’s has grown, becoming one of New Zealand’s best-loved department stores. Our Queen Street store offers three floors of exciting shopping- Men’s and Women’s Fashion, Cosmetics, Fine Fragrance, Accessories and Homeware. The Newmarket store, offers an outstanding collection of Men’s and Women’s Fashion, Cosmetics, Fine Fragrance, Accessories and more.
