You want one of the best brunch spots in Wellington overlooking the harbour? Then you can’t go past Scorch O Rama. Order the berry smoothies and get eggs benny. De.lici.ous.

Escape the central city with brunch or afternoon tea and a walk or lie on the beach in Seatoun. This cafe is family-friendly with a big menu of meals and sweet treats, plus excellent coffee.

I love the food here. But sitting by the water on a great day is by no means a contingent feature of a visit to Scorch O Rama. Very popular on the weekends, it's worth getting here early.

Scorch-O-Rama, perched right at the edge of Scorching Bay beach, is the perfect Wellington summer brunch spot. Sit at one of the spacious rimu picnic tables inside if the wind is brisk, or hop across the street for a brightly colored chair when the sun is out. Splurge on the deluxe shake (pick the milkshake flavor, ice cream, and a choc bar.) The eggs benedict is a solid choice, with a good amount of fluff and nice flavor. The views are picture perfect, so be sure to leave some time for a relaxing walk along the coast after.

This café is a Wellington institution, best known for its capacity to attract LOTR actors on their off days - and for the fact that it has a road running through the middle of it (the Scorch O Rama guys and gals wear high-vis vests while they ferry your food to you!). Take your guests for a classic Wellington experience and make sure it's a sunny day. Views across the harbour entrance and brunches to spoil you.

With heaps of outdoor space, this is a great spot to bring the dog down and try some of their yummy food! The milkshakes are highly recommended. Perky nana is the tops. (Banana & Chocolate). They also have a selection of sunglasses you can borrow if you dine in on a sunny day. An awesome outlook for an awesome cafe!

Perfect spot for an early lunch in the sun
