Sabana, aged about 45, is the group leader of this four-member joint liability group (JLG), which is named Maa Pendrani. The group is based in Khariar town, which is situated in Nuapada district of Orissa state in India. Sabana is a very active lady who wants some extra income out of her own efforts. This is her second loan from Mahashakti Foundation. Her husband has a mutton shop where Sabana invested her first loan. But when she saw other women in her group earning their own income, she decided to start a new business of her own. So when she took her second loan, she started a home shoppe with ladies' items like Bengal and other fancy materials.
