Every Sunday from 9am until 1pm the Phoenix car park in main street of downtown Mount is closed off and fresh vendors move in with their delights – fresh organic fruit and veges, beautiful bunches of cut flowers, breads pasties and cheeses, honey and preserves from local growers. I do recommend getting there early in summer before the holiday-makers stir.

Cruise down to this fantastic food market every Sunday morning right in the middle of The Mount downtown. Local artisans and growers present their fresh home grown delicious wares and produce. Lots of yummy breads, pastries, cheese, smoked fish, oils, chutneys, juices, plants, honey, flowers, a wonderful reflection of why we’re called the Bay of Plenty.

The market offers local fresh produce, breads, pastries, cheeses, smoked fish, oils, chutneys, relishes, juices, honey, fresh cut flowers and other delicious edibles from the region.

Fresh and fantastic, this farmers market brings together all the fabulous produce that the Bay is renowned for.

Don’t ask me why I was here instead of McDonald’s on a Sunday morning after playing at Brewer’s bar, but I was. Blame my girlfriend she got me into these markets and what’s even more worrying is that she wasn’t with me lol. Found a stall which does some crazy good Crepes. Best thing is that it’s just off the beachfront so you can grab a freshly squeezed juice then head down there to enjoy it.

Don’t ask me why I was here hungover on a Sunday morning after playing at Brewer’s bar but I was. Blame my girlfriend she got me into these and what’s more worrying is she wasn’t with me lol. Found a crepe stall and that was me, so good. One of the busiest I’ve been to and you can’t beat the surroundings, you’re in The Mount.
