Memorial Park is a central Tauranga recreational park consisting of 11 hectares of land overlooking the harbour. The park features 2 popular playgrounds along with a water fountain, skate ramp, free barbeques, mini golf, miniature railway, the Memorial Hall, Memorial Pools, Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre and the Tauranga Rowing Club.

There are also 2 large fields which play host to a variety of activities and events including school carnivals, festivals, gypsy fairs, community fundraisers and travelling circuses.

It's a great spot to enjoy a relaxing family picnic on a sunny day.

If you are looking for a place to picnic or fire up the barby where the kids can play in a paradise playground for you and your kids you can’t go past this 11 hectare waterfront park on the edge of Tauranga city with views across the estuary. It suits most ages and has two playgrounds, mini golf, model railway and a skateboard ramp. When the weather heats up kids take to the fountain to play and the adjacent Memorial Pool opens from Labour Weekend for summer.

      I can't beleive I haven't spent more time at this place over the years. This park truely offers it all. Huge trees to lie or picnic under, it's on the beach front and has a huge playground for kids. There's also mini-golf, a children's train offering rides in the weekends and swimming pools or a fountain to escape the heat. You can even get an icecream from one of the vendors parked up there during the holidays and weekends. The council is also planning to replace the iconic rocket slide with a modern version promising to be bigger and better.

        I visited Memorial Park for the first time in years last week and it was a hive of activity. The waterfront park offers modern playground equipment and is about to have its iconic rocket slide replaced with a safer, more modern version. There's also mini putt, outdoor pools and a children's ride-on train to keep the kids entertained. When the weather really warms up the large fountain is also a great place for a splash around in the sun.

          Open spaces and playgrounds galore. Something for all kids with a skate rink, mini putt, buggy hire and train rides.

            Always a winner with the grandkids particularly on a Sunday in summer when the miniature train is running. Kids love to play in the park, paddle and play on the safe beach and so many other things to do.

              Awesome cheap day out with the kids. Enjoy a picnic in the shade under the trees, ride the miniature trains, play in the water fountain, paddle in the sea, play on the parks, scooter in the skate park or play some outdoor sports in the big open spaces, all of this in one place!

                With numerous play areas, mini putt, skate park, train rides, mini jeep rides, estuary and an ice cream truck on hand most days. Good place to take the kids to run off some energy, always other kids there for them to play or fight with. BBQs are on hand also if you want to take some sausages down to cook up.
