Macpac as a kiwi brand are an institution. You don't have to settle for less just to buy local - these guys know the deal about living in a country filled with outdoorsy people and their stores reflect this persona. I took my friend out to shop for a good hiking pack to take traveling with her, and the retail assistant here was amazing - she helped my friend fit a load of bags and then in true down-to-earth style, quietly tipped us off about the easter clearance sale. You could tell she genuinely wanted to help out rather than just earn some commission - and she also knew exactly what she was talking about. This store is a lot better than the Macpac in the CBD. I myself have a Kahuna daypack and it is the best backpack I've ever invested in.
