Little and Friday cannot be beaten for the best cabinet food treats in Auckland. There is such a huge range of delicious treats, amazingly presented and served by great staff. The lines out the door every day are indicative of the success of this business. I have never eaten something from L&F that has let me down and neither has the coffee. Only problem is that it is so successful it can be hard to find a table to sit at. But dont let that deter you - take your cake away in its individual cake box and it will be just as good anywhere you eat it. The Lemon and Coconut Cake is the absolute winner, though the cream donuts also cannot be beaten! But lets be honest, nothing will ever disappoint from the Little and Friday cabinet!
Meeting a mate for lunch so chose Little and Friday after hearing so much about it. The first thing you notice is that you're in a fabric warehouse. Interesting. Then it's that the cafe is quite small and there's no made to order food. Everything is pre-made but fresh that day. And man is it awesome. Donuts, bread and butter pud, pies, pumpkin and bacon flans, chocolate cakes. Yum. Definitely coming here again. They've got a place on the shore too.
I read a few reviews on this lil place before attempting to visit this mothers day.....was to packed so went in on a tuesday around 11.20. was packed. As much as i do adore many things about this place....the owners need to embrace that its a total hit and provide more seating areas. I did manage to share a table for 4 with 5 people...and witnessed around 15 people walk in and straight out due to the lack of seats. its literally money walking out the door. Love the food...pricey but the quality is so good you'l forgive yourself for over indulging..... on the pocket and the waistline. Some reviews I read on other sites said some negative things about the staff...they are not the best,....not even good but i didnt mind them. My focus was on the amazing bake goods....so go for food.....maybe youl be lucky and go on a quiet day. enjoy
Stopped by here for a girly catch up over coffee, the presentation of all the food is amazing - they all look so good, you dont know where to start! However I'd heard a lot about their famous doughnuts and boy were they good!! Highly recommend going halves with a friend - although I could've seriously ahd my own :)
It's not often you walk into a cafe and want to eat everything in sight, but that's what happens at LIttle & Friday. You'd be hard pressed to find a spot with more beautifully presented cabinet options than this one, with delightful touches everywhere - from the antique crockery and cutlery, to painted plastic animals you get given with your order. Situated off Martha's Furnishings, there's two large communal tables if you're eating in - definitely not your typical cafe setup.
One of the best reasons to visit Newmarket for sure... The food is fantastic with a large selection of freshly baked sweet and savoury goodies and great coffee. Being located inside the fabric shop the atmosphere is casual and un-rushed, with a vintage homely vibe; seating is on big communal tables, with cutlery and water in the middle for self service. You get little plastic animals instead of numbers which is pretty cute too. Overall, amazing food and good value!
