Not only is the International Antarctic Centre one of the best tourist attractions in Canterbury but it’s also a great place to go for the locals! There’s so much to do here, it’ll blow your mind. Like experiencing a snow and ice storm, hanging out with Little Blue Penguins and take a simulated 4D cruise on a Hagglund. The kids will never want to leave!
For an interactive and informative experience of the Antarctic, take your kids to the International Antarctic Centre out near the airport. Check out the cute Blue Penguins (and fee them!), watch Happy Feet and ‘Ice Voyage’ films and take a ride on the Hagglund - there are certainly a load of fun activities for kids here!
The kids love it here, simply because it’s so different from anything else, especially in the snow room! It’s fun and educational at the same time. Make sure you go when they have the locals special on (if you’re local) as it can be a bit pricey, but buy the ticket that includes the Haglund Ride and 4D movie though - they’re highlights.
