Woah, suposedly this is one of the oldest buildings in Auckland, and what a re-vamp! We walked in and thought; finally, a real brewery in the city offering an extensive drinks menu (and I mean HUGE)! and food too looks beautiful (not pub food)! The beers im told are truly delicious, and the wine list goes on and on - they are really impressive and generous with their tasting trials too! We were watching!!
What an afternoon we spent at The Brewery Britomart for their Octoberfest!! The german food was delicious and the home brew lager was amazing (helped down with a few Jeigermeister shots. It was our 3rd anniversary and we couldn't have wished for a friendlier staff, great grub, good beer and a fantastic atmosphere with the German band. We got sore throats from singing along loudly. Thanks guys, we'll definately be back.... Gyll, Laughs Unlimited
I'm sure that locals would recommend this as one of several places to go to when an out-of-town beer-lover is visiting or traveling through Marina. Well, I'm one of these peeps who got recommended to this little hidden gem!I love craft beers of just about any kind especially if some heart is present when making it. There definitely was a lot of heart going into the brews because the flavors were wonderful!I find the prices for these brews decent and I will have to get a mug for myself the next time I visit the area.As for the food, it's a hit or miss. Nothing spectacular but who cares? It's a freaking BREWERY! ^_^
A lovely bar that i'll definitely return to! Meeting friends for a Sunday drink can be a fraught experience. Not really into the pumping sounds of 90s Techno nor lots of kids running around un-attended by their parents. The Brewery bar is a nice spot with ambience and serenity. There was a TV playing rugby but without the volume. Makes most people happy that way! The other clientele was a mix of thirty-something's, travellers and a couple of [older] family groups. The one negative was that I got there at 4:28 and the bartender did not inform me that happy hour started at 4:30. She took the money for a full price beverage probably right on the dot of 4:30 by the time we sorted the eftpos out. I also ordered chips - had to ask for them as they were not on the Tapa's menu - but they were yummy. Came with Aioli and Tomato sauce. Not sure how expensive they were - I ordered fries and a beer and it came to $23. The beer is boutique so I don't mind paying more for it. Definitely recommend you go DURING happy hour and try to get a good deal!
