Great Lunch
After a impulsive visit to Warkworth, we needed fueling up with coffee and lunch. Initially went to another cafe nearby but their food choices weren’t particularly appetizing. So a quick google search suggested Ginger Cafe, which also happened to be close by. Greeted by a delicious looking array of display food, full breakfast menu and friendly staff, we opted for flat whites, a cheese & bacon scone and the mushroom filo. The coffee was brilliant - the front door claims award winning coffee, and it was definitely not false advertising. In fact, had to surrender half of mine to mum for having forgotten to order ours coffees large! The scone was pretty good, but the highlight was the mushroom filo. It came with a generous side of salad, and not the wilted kind with greens only - we actually saw the likes of red onions and a rainbow of capsicum - it’s little details like this that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg but so many eateries skip. The mushroom was to die for. If you’re the type to order mushrooms on toast at cafes, this is for you. Best I’ve ever had at a cafe. And great prices for the quality and quantity. One (admittedly petty) gripe is that for display food, ours took a little bit to be heated and served, but we did note that it was getting busy being noon. Plus, the point was for us Aucklanders to take a bit of time out so we really can’t complain! Thank you to the positive reviews on google for leading us here, and thank you Ginger Cafe for an unexpected delicious lunch that made our day trip even better!
