The Eden Cloak room is a popular spot - it catches the afternoon sun and makes for a great place to have a few drinks on a sunny afternoon with friends. Sometimes it's super busy and hard to get a table outside but generally tables come available pretty quickly. Overall the atmosphere is great but sometimes the food is a bit lacking - good but not great (avoid the hot wings!)
Awesome little drinking hole and a great place to get some pub food. Lovely decor, nice music playing and the food was very yummy, but what set this place apart was their customer service - second to none. We went on an off-night (monday) so it was a bit quieter and I can imagine this place getting very busy come the weekend. So if you are after food, get in there a bit earlier.
Went here for lunch on Sunday, the outside tables were busy so we decided to sit indoors. We had the steak sandwich (which was a special) and the pork belly dish. Both dishes were excellent, and the steak sandwich was really tasty. Must try their chunky fries! The service is awesome as well - all the staff wearing all blacks jerseys showing their support. Will definitely be back.
It's a good place to meet up with a friend for a quiet drink. People around you get on with their own thing - there's no hassling from the other punters - who are grown ups. The staff are friendly and the wine is good. Haven't tried the food yet but it looks good - as seen from a neighbouring table.

This is a really popular casual bar in Mt Eden. Most nights it's packed with punters all jostling for a table on the outside. It's kinda a seen to be seen place. In the weekend on a sunny afternoon, you can't beat the Eden Cloak Room and sipping on a few beers and having some delicious tapas. It's very intimate so get there early to score yourself a table!
