I love popping in for coffee at this wicked little spot after taking a stroll through Auckland's Domain. It's halfway between Parnell and Newmarket and if you make sure your walking route goes up next to the Auckland museum and past the tennis courts, you'll pop out onto Parnell Rd in exactly the right place. It's all woody and warming inside and the coffee is one of the smoothest, most consistent brews I get anywhere in the city. Beans are organic too. Oh and the brekkie menu is second to none plus they do an awesome cleansing juice. Earthy as!
Strong, steadfast and true should be the motto of this gorgeous little haunt at the top of Parnell Rise. It had me from the moment my hand clasped the clever door handle - a spade. And that should give you every indication as to what Domain and Ayr is all about. Taking fresh, organic produce plucked from the earth and creating a wide-ranging delicious spectrum of treats, this is one of those places to secret away to and shut out the hustle and bustle of Auckland City. Plus, the coffee is a good, strong (steadfast) brew of organic Kokako goodness. I'll be back again very soon!
So despite the slight bias because the waiter is gorgeous, I came here for my birthday earlier in the year and my experience here was satisfying for all of my senses, mainly taste and sight. Nonetheless, I got the classic NZ breakfast with eggs, bacon, tomato, mushrooms, etc etc. The lot. It was really good and I also got an iced mocha which was great. My friend told me to get the spinach and banana smoothie which she swears is really good but I was not about to risk getting a gross drink for my birthday breakfast. This place is all organic and you can certainly tell from the high quality of the food they serve. It was so full of flavour and I could feel better about myself knowing it was organic. Coffee is great here, got a mocha which was full flavoured and delicious.
