Cod squad is a travelling food van selling fish & chips, burgers and pizzas. The brainchild of Jo Denny, she moved over from Britain after falling in love with a Kiwi on the Temple Basin ski slopes. Struggling to find work as a teacher, she decided to follow in a family tradition (her grandparents ran a similar business 50 years ago), taking inspiration from her student job in one of Britain's best fish & chip shops.
Based in a van shipped over from home, she uses only the freshest ingredients and her own secret batter recipe. You can find her at various locations throughout Christchurch.

The Cod Squad is becoming world famous in Christchurch. Their fish is as fresh as you can get and the chips are not greasy at all! Good luck trying to find them though as they are on wheels ....

    A food truck that travels around serving top quality fish and chips and fantastic burgers, Cod Squad is the passion project of new mum Jo who left her life behind in England for the love of a Kiwi bloke and ended up setting up her gourmet takeaway business in Christchurch. Personally, I fell in love with Cod Squad's hearty cheeseburger. Although a good friend of mine who lives in Christchurch also says it's the only place he goes for his fish and chips. Get into the hearty goodness - it's a great idea for a Friday night eat.
