Paleo breakfast is du jour right now and Auckland cutie Catroux proves they are up with the play as always by serving a fantastically health-conscious version that doesn't skimp on taste. So if you are watching your waistline or want to put health before wealth then come here. But if it's a Sunday morning and you like to be a little bit naughty then you need to visit Catroux for the pancakes alone. Light, bright and fluffy as air, this is one of the stand-out breakfast dishes. Plus, they like to change up their variations so if you are a regular like me, you'll never get bored. And if it's breakfast on the run you are after then go for the cheese scone - it's one of Auckland's best.
Definitely a Westmere favourite, Catroux is simply superb. From the elegant white interior to the fresh flowers and innovative menu it really is the perfect place to head for brunch. The ham off the bone with a soft gruyere scramble and slow roasted tomatoes is a pleasure and the smashed avocado and toast is sublime. The brunch menu changes seasonally but you will definitely find something delightful to charm your taste buds and don't forget to try the expertly made coffee.
