From the street front of Baobab Cafe, or even inside, it's easy to miss the best part – the garden area out back, perfect for summer. Grab a smoothie and a savoury muffin at a picnic table in the sun, or if you're in the mood for something more substantial, check out the breakfast, brunch and lunch menus. And with also art or photographs (which are often for sale) hanging on the walls or a singer-songwriter performing, Baobab feels like a meeting place for Newtown's creative community.

Perfect place for a coffee and a sweet treat outside in the sun, enjoying Baobab's lovely outdoor area. #MORtreat

With an emphasis on sustainability and local food, Baobab is a suburban haven of delicious fresh food choices - most of them vegetarian. Try the haloumi rosti stack or crispy fried falafel!

With its expansive outdoor area, Baobab is a great place to enjoy a coffee outside on a sunny day. Though its selection of counter food is not as expansive as Pranah’s, it too presents a lot of options for vegans and vegetarians. It often holds art exhibitions and live music, too.

While Newtown’s Baobab cafe isn’t strictly vegetarian/vegan by any means, they do cater to vegetarians/vegans very well. Haloumi Rosti Stacks, Breakfast Burritos, Big Vege Brekkies, Cashew Lentil Burgers, Vege Nachoes, the list goes on. The cafe environment is wonderfully comfortable as well, and come summertime, that courtyard is magic.

Gluten free pasta, gluten free sausages, Gluten Free Brownies and Gluten Free Macaroons; need I say more?!

Baobab's garden is a lovely spot to enjoy a quiet beer on a Sunday afternoon.

Baobab is a charming little cafe. And I love the back, outdoor area. I was here on a sunny and clear but cold and crisp day, and had a hot spicy apple tea to guard against the cold. Yum.

I love this place - always a great place to hang out for a couple of hours and while away the weekend.

That breakfast omelette...oh man...
