The Ankurs Nice N Spice store in Petone will blow your senses away. The smells and the colours from the exotic spices will assault you, in a good way.

Ankurs opened in February 2009 by Hitesh and Ankur Vyas who immigrated to New Zealand a few years ago from India. They swung open the doors to bring a little slice of India to New Zealand, and more specifically their new home in Lower Hutt.

Everything in the store is imported from India and can be used to spice up all sorts of dishes.

I love buying fresh spices by the scoop, smelling that smell of India and the samosa are well worth taking home.

    I love the huge range of Indian spices they have here! The staff are also really helpful which is nice because their range can be a bit overwhelming. Don’t forget to try their samosas, massively delicious!

      Brilliant shop!
