1885 Britomart

It is a really nice venue ! Went there on a thursday night and watched "The glass owels" I liked it and the beer was only $5. It is a nice outside area too,nice in summer. Friendly bar staff and good crowd of people. I like that they also play alternative music and not only charts. Great bar and not too overpriced for britomart.

Went in for an indie night, $2 a beer watched 2 bands play for free.  I can say that this is one of the best bars in Auckland. Great atmosphere and vibe. The drink prices are a little higher on the usual nights I suspect, but 1885 isn't a cheaply fit-out corner pub either. It's always fun, and the service is good.  Overall, I'd definitely recommend 1885 especially if you can pick a good night with cheaper beers and when its less crowded.

I occasionally visit this place either on a Friday evening or on the weekends when out in town with friends. It's at a great location and the atmosphere is great. Prices are reasonable considering it's right by the wharf. Staff here are also super friendly with great tips on drinks. If coming here on weekend nights though be sure to get here early as there's always a ridiculously long queue after 9 or 10pm!

Think I must have gone here on the wrong night or maybe at the wrong time cos there wasn't much going on. Good back seating area if you want somewhere dark and intimate. And the spiced tomato juice was very good.

Here to watch the CJC jazz club series. Second one of the year. Get there early to get a comfy leather seat.

1885 hosted a GHD event one evening. We all  thoroughly enjoyed our night, it was a very fitting venue to host a proffesional night. Also a great place to go for a few drinks after work and in the weekend have a good dance with friends. Deffinatly recommend 1885.

The bar staff kick butt on the busiest night they are awesome!
