"Had a total blast with my 2 year old here can’t wait to come back love how there’s stuff here for the younger kids … The staff were so lovely x"
"Great place to chill out with the kids in the middle of summer and have some fun... and it's still close to home..."
21 Waiwera Road, Waiwera, Auckland 0950

"The last time that I visited Waiwera was on a school trip and I got a blood nose from the black hole. Regardless it was a good time. Since then Waiwera has been through a little bit of a transformation. Over the years it has morphed into more of a health spa. For OSH reasons only two of the slides remain. It may have lost a bit of the fun factor but as an adult it's still a relaxing day away from the big smoke."
"This is the place to be on a hot summers day. We make it a family ritual to spend at least one day every summer here. On a cold day the hot pools are a pleasure. What’s great is that its not too far from Auckland Central."
Corner Saleyards & Puhoi Road, Puhoi, Auckland
"Just off the state highway this is a stop worth making. Old and classic tavern style pub with massive beer garden. Perfect to break the road trip and a surprise spot for a lunch date, great old fashioned fare at decent pricing."

"Puhoi Valley Cheese Co is such a lovely country drive and so easy to get to. We shared a plowman's platter and a cheese platter.. Yummy breads, cheeses, pate, and chutneys. The setting is lovely, the food great and after lunch we went for the wee walk around the lake. The returned to buy a Puhoi ice cream. After all that we stocked up on our fav cheeses ( free samples are plentiful), the 6 year old Parmesan and a brie. Great spot, good food, good service. A fab Sunday lunch spot!"
"I have tasted some great cheese from here and heard great reviews. Love to go here on my way north!"

"I enjoy coming to this Kings Plant Barn. I can always get what I need for the garden and grab a coffee there too before I head back to do battle with the garden. The staff are always helpful and I find the prices are reasonable too. I'm not the most attentive gardener and yet my plants from here have done really well."
"What’s not to love about this place! Surrounded by gorgeous plants and stunning local art work ( which you may purchase if you so choose) ! There breakfast was just delightful and a generous portion as well."
" The staff at this Plant Barn are always really wonderful - they go out of their way to help. I am a novice gardener so can use any help I can get! Its a bit of a busy intersection now with the new Warehouse and Supermarket going in there, but still a great place to go if, like me, you could use the advise!"
Beach Road, Long Bay, Auckland 0630
"You may have seen 10 year old boys hitting the beach on boards skimming across the shallow water and thought to yourself what on earth are they doing? Well things are as they appear, welcome to the art of skimboarding. It may look easy, but trust me, unless you are a young one with awesome balance or a skilled skateboarder then you will probably end up in the water more than you would like to admit . With enough practice though you will perfect the glide and Long Bay is one of my absolute favourite places to practice. As the name suggests, its long - which means if you head right to the end you get the privacy you need while you work on becoming a pro. Did I mention it is a killer leg workout? Say hello to toned thighs and tight abs. Because the boards are so light make sure to head to the beach when there is little wind and pick up some surf wax on the way for grip. This beach gets packed in the summer time so try and get their before midday to get a park and a prime spot on the sand."
"The regional park has a beach is a pretty good place to walk through with the sand dunes on one side, the ocean on the other, the sunny sky right above and the warm sands beneath your feet."

" I love this gym - the staff are all friendly and helpful. They have made me want to keep going and have always given such great encouragement. My daughter loves the swim school and i have seen great results."

" Great location, amazing food, wonderful service. You couldn't ask for much more from a restaurant. We went for an evening meal and were suitably impressed. It was a bit dark to see the view well, but definitely planning a summer visit to make the most of it. In the middle of Long Bay Reserve, so as well as a great view, a peaceful location."

"Sometimes a girl just needs a damn good curry. I really love coming to Masala particularly in the summer because I like to sit outside in there awesome garden area with all the fairy lights as the sun starts to set. Also there curry is always delicious and their naan is so yummy and crispy!"
" The best indian food on the coast, love this place it's perfect for a night out with friends or a night out with my kids."
" Masala is the most delicious Indian food I have ever eaten! It was pure perfection...the naan bread, the curry and the drink were all top class. I went with my netball team on Wednesday and it was only $10 for us to each get a curry and apparently this happens every Wednesday. The setting is so gorgeous. There are large tables outside for groups and then small tables inside with fires going. The place has cute lights everywhere and have a heater over the outside tables so you won't get cold. I would recommend Masala to anyone! "

"We have always enjoyed coming to this store. The staff are really friendly and helpful and there is so much to see. Bought our mice here and as we hadn't kept mice before, really appreciated all the helpful advice."
" Our two littlies love visiting this store. They have a really good range of pets and pet products. It's always hard to leave without acquiring a new family member of the furry kind. The staff are friendly too."
" Animates Silverdale is a great pet store and possibly one of the best in the area it provides a great range of product for your pet and a great range of pets if you're looking for a new pet. Animates is very well laid out and is very easy to find what you want. There is a vet center on the side of the main shop which is a great addition and is a great place to take your pet for a check up providing you're registered with them."
275 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa, Auckland 0931
"I went to my orewa on my first date with my now-boyfriend, it's a really special spot - and so close to Auckland. Get your beach fix before it is too late!"
"Orewa Beach is the place to be this summer, plenty of great activities and events, Movenpick Icecream shop near by, and to top off your day at the beach, why not try the Fish and Chip store just across the road."
340 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa, Auckland
"We had some delicious nachos here by the sea. A nice cafe to pop into if you’re passing by. Cheap, pleasant cafe food."
"It’s not often I have a sweet tooth at breakfast. I went down to Orewa to meet a friend … We decided to try out Oliver’s! Wow, I had their Pancakes … They were amazing …so light and fluffy! I’ll be back!"
" Popped in here for a takeaway coffee on my way to work the other day on recommendation from a colleague, and was very happy. I had a soy flat white, and was delighted to get a little bit of chocolate brownie on top to go with it. Lovely touch, and the people were nice. Might go back tomorrow!"
11 Moana Avenue, Orewa, Auckland
"This is a great stop off on your way north for a weekend away. They have a good selection of groceries, with some more "gourmet" offerings than you would find at other supermarkets. Also good to pop in for picnic supplies if visiting the beach."
" New World Orewa is one of New World’s better stores and is on par with Albany. The store itself is well laid out and easy to find things, unlike other stores such as Countdown! The store is huge and has everything you would expect, plus more. Fresh fruit and vegetables are great and the only time I had a problem, it was rectified within 5 minutes. Great customer service right there! All members of staff are smiling and are only too happy to assist you. Self-Checkouts make it so much easier to grab those few items you forgot during the big weekly shop. The checkouts are so easy to use. Opening hours are impressive and the store always looks festive during the summer months."
" New World Orewa is a good supermarket for the occasional shop with a good layout making it easy to find what you want. The staff are friendly and helpful and make it easy to find anything you are struggling to find yourself. The self service checkout makes it very easy to get in and out very quickly, although the prices are expensive it is a good store."
