"Nestled in the sleepy suburb of Howick is Muzza’s pies which is well worth a drive out to. The smaller pies are the most cost-effective on this list but I would say you should definitely go all out and get a family sized pie so everyone at home can experience the joy of pie. If it’s on offer when you go, grab the steak and oyster pie for the sake of exploration."

" David Liem really knows his pies. Go for his award winning mince and cheese, which Michael Meredith called "classic… brought me back to my old school days, the visits to the tuck shop." On your next pie pilgrimage be sure to head out to Botany Downs - we hear their vegetarian pie is top notch, too!"
" Located near the New World in Botany Town Centre, the vibe is more Hollywood than Little and Friday, but it's still worth a visit to try the award winning pies. I went for the supreme award winning mince & cheese pie, and the pastry was buttery and flaky, while the filling was well balanced and perfectly seasoned. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area."

"This is my go to place when I need a cake for a special occasion. They bake delicious cakes and decorate them with cream that isn’t too sweet - and fill the cake layers with your choice (I usually have pudding and peaches). Also a great place to get egg tarts from, baked fresh daily, these egg tarts are the best I’ve had. I usually pick it up in the morning when I know I can get at least 12 egg tarts. And if you order your cake a day in advance you might even get a discount."
" The Rio bakeries have a reasonably large range, especially the one in Highland Park. They have all sorts of traditional and western style cakes and breads, from the honey cake, to chocolate mousse. For a higher range, the prices are reasonable and cheaper than other Asian bakeries, although they use a lot of mock cream instead of fresh cream which is disappointing, even in their chilled Swiss rolls. "I love Stefans Bakery, especially for their Creamy Chicken pies, though I've heard their steak and pepper pies are good too. Their pies are especially good eaten hot on cold day - preferably on a saturday while at the Howick village market. The pasty doesn't leave a fatty taste in your mouth, as I find most pastries do. Their creamy chicken's are a must try!"
" Some seriously good cabinet bakes - chocolate and lemon tarts are the best, made by the french-trained baker. Donuts are traditional, chewy, sugary jammy goodness. Great priced sandwiches on fresh bread. Great lunch stop in Howick, can't beat it :)"
" I love the creamy chicken pies from here, a delicious treat everytime. When feeling healthy, the salad ranges are yum. The bakery selection is excellent and the food beautifully presented, tasty and modern. The baker is a hard working young woman who puts her love and energy into her food."

"Went there for the first time in years, and bought some of their lamingtons and donuts. So glad to find they use fresh cream, not the cheap filler mock cream that so many other bakeries now use! The lamingtons I bought were large, fresh and great value at just $2.50. Will definitely be returning for more. "

"I love their baking! Their Apple-turnovers are the best I've ever tasted. I've served them to friends & family and they all agree. Their hot-cross buns are the best too, just a shame they only make them over Easter. Maybe we should encourage them to bake it without the cross when it's not Easter and call them "Spiced Fruit buns". Their pies are really good quality too & very filling."
