Mayor Len Brown will participate in this Sunday's TelstraClear Challege - in which cyclists get a rare opportunity to cycle across the Auckland Harbour Bridge and along the northern busway.
The challenge celebrates Auckland's cycle culture. There are two options available to suit both amateurs and elite athletes. There is a 110km course, and a 15km 'pedallers challenge'. Cyclists can choose to do the 110km route either solo or as a relay race. Mayor Brown says he's excited about the chance to participate.
"I want Auckland to turn up for this challenge. It's a unique opportunity to get active, enjoy the view and harbour while crossing one of Auckland's most iconic structures. I'm looking forward to it."
